      Perf decisions made when packaging code into 3rd party libs are much different than for full sites. Discussion may have conflated the two.

          Metric compatible fonts have matching glyph dimensions. It’s not popular but can eliminate web font reflow. wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Metric-compatible_fonts
